EXCURSION PROGRAMME

Venture along the Amalfi Drive to explore Amalfi, the main town along the coast, and Ravello, a hillside village offering picture-perfect vistas of the sea. Along the way admire the cathedral dedicated to Saint Andrew and marvel at the beautiful Villa Rufolo.

Leave Sorrento with your guide and enjoy the ride on the Amalfi Drive, a winding cliff top road offering breathtaking views at every turn. First stop at Amalfi, a vacation resort and once a powerful maritime republic. Admire the cluster of white houses rising up the hill, dominated by the beautiful cathedral. Standing at the top of a staircase leading up from the main square, the cathedral holds the remains of Saint Andrew, the patron saint of Amalfi.

Next venture up to Ravello, nestled on a hillside at 1,198 feet (365 m) above the sea,.
In Ravello worth a visit is the famous Villa Rufolo, dating back to the second half of the 13th century. The villa inspired Richard Wagner to compose some verses of the Parsifal and hosted Boccaccio while writing the Decameron. Its gardens overlook the sea and from there the view in breathtaking. During the journey to Ravello we will stop in a typical family restaurant in Scala for an optional lunch.
The entrance fees of the Villa is not included and should be paid on the spot.

Board an air-conditioned vehicle for a comfortable ride back to Sorrento.
